In London, sports broadcast measurement specialist Repucom has hired former Lawn Tennis Association Chief Commercial Officer Simon Long as Head of Sales for the UK and Ireland (UK&I).
Repucom's sponsorship evaluation offer includes the measurement of brand activity at events and the performance of rival brands across the sponsorship inventory. In 2013, the firm acquired Milan-based Immagine & Sport, which provides a range of market research and media ROI analysis services, as well as target audience profiling.
Long (pictured) joins after nearly two years at the Lawn Tennis Association, where his focus was on driving sponsorship, major events and TV activities, as well as awareness of the sport. Prior to this, he was CEO of FIA World Rally Championship promoter North One Sport and of Sport Digital. Earlier, he worked for retirement planning specialist ISC Limited, and served as European Sales Development Director at Diageo.
In his new role, Long will be responsible for the development and implementation of Repucom's commercial strategy across the UK and Ireland, which will include working with rights holders, media platforms and brands to provide insights into the benefits of sport and entertainment, and how to engage with consumers, fans and partners.
UK&I MD Jon Stainer has worked with Long previously and comments: 'Simon's understanding of both the rights holder and brand markets will be hugely important as we continue to develop our business.'
