Retail tracking specialist The NPD Group has expanded Michel Maury's role as Group President for Europe, to include management of its Asia Pacific operations; meanwhile former Ipsos exec Philippe Cabin Saint Marcel joins as General Manager of Commercial Activities for Europe.
In March, Maury will relocate from Paris to Hong Kong, where he will replace Tim Bush, who is moving back to the US to assume the role of Group President of NA Commercial Sectors, covering the US, Canada and Mexico. Maury joined the firm in 2008 from IRI, where he latterly served as MD of Central Europe, with responsibility for leadership and management of the firm's business units in France and Germany. Before this, he was President and CEO of IRI France, having begun his career at retailer Carrefour.
Saint Marcel joins from Ipsos in France, and after an eight year career at IRI where he served as General Manager, and previously, Deputy MD in charge of manufacturer clients and prospects. He began his career at Unilever, where he worked as Marketing Director for the Homecare division, and then Customer Development Director in the Home & Personal Care unit.
As part of Maury's promotion, a new European Executive Committee of four has been created to manage NPD's European operations. This includes David Pritchard, who will manage the committee and co-ordinate its activities in the role of European Deputy Managing Director; Philippe Court, CFO for Europe; Catherine Rozanski, HR Head for Europe and Asia; and Saint Marcel, who takes on responsibility for leading commercial activities for the firm's retailer partnerships in the region.
Commenting on the establishment of his new team, Maury stated: 'Setting up our European Executive Committee is instrumental to our continued success in Europe. We are particularly delighted to welcome Philippe Cabin Saint Marcel to the company. He joins us with a wealth of commercial and management experience that will be a key asset as we continue to expand and grow our European business.'
