In the US, data-driven CRM agency Merkle has acquired digital analytics consultancy Pointmarc. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2006 by CEO Arsenio Valdez, Seattle-based Pointmarc provides analytics and data technology for clients in the retail, technology, financial, media, CPG and pharmaceutical sectors. In addition to its HQ, the company has offices in Boston, San Francisco and Portland.
Merkle says that Pointmarc's business model fits into its own plan to enhance and scale digital capabilities across data, analytics, technology, and experience design and creation. Through the acquisition, Merkle will gain Pointmarc's expertise in data architecture and engineering, as well as the scale that it will bring to its own site analytics and channel optimization capabilities.
As part of the deal, Pointmarc's team of more than 100 digital analytics professionals will all join Merkle, growing the agency's combined Quantitative Marketing Group to a team of 450 data and analytics experts.
Merkle Chairman and CEO David Williams (pictured) comments: 'From a cultural perspective, Pointmarc's leadership and management philosophy are very similar to Merkle's own. Pointmarc's capabilities in digital data architecture, marketing platform implementation, and site optimization across key industries will perfectly complement the value we bring to our clients' channel marketing efforts.'
