GfK has appointed media research veteran Gregg Lindner in the new position of EVP of Media Research at its consumer and media research company GfK MRI.
Lindner (pictured) was EVP in charge of day-to-day business and operations at Scarborough Research from 1996 to 2010, having joined the company in 1993 after a decade at Arbitron and a shorter stint at Simmons Market Research. He served as Scarborough's Acting President for more than a year before moving back to Arbitron, where as EVP of Service Innovation & Chief Research Officer he led efforts to align services with emerging media and integrate print and digital audience measures.
Having driven the improved MRC accreditation of Arbitron's Portable People Meter radio ratings system, and moved on to work at MRC itself last year, Lindner will also include MRC accreditation activities in his new role.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and a Master's in Quantitative Analysis & Urban Sociology, both from the University of Maryland.
GfK MRI's Managing Director Florian Kahlert comments: 'Anyone who has been involved in advertising and media research over the last two decades is familiar with Gregg and his outstanding leadership credentials. He combines a solid grounding in traditional measurement with a deep knowledge of digital audience measurement. This makes Gregg the right person to point us to new approaches that meet the standards of accuracy our clients have come to rely on'.
