Stamford, CT-based Information Services Group (ISG) has announced the acquisition of Experton Group AG, a subscription-based research, advisory and benchmarking firm based in Munich, Germany.
Experton Group helps enterprise clients to maximize the business value of their ICT investments, with a combination of independent advice, primary and secondary research / analysis and vendor benchmarking services. The firm was founded in 2005 and also has offices in the German city of Kassel.
ISG says the buys accelerates the development of its subscription research business in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), its second-largest market after the Americas; and complements its acquisition of emerging IT trends analyst Saugatuck Technology, which now provides research and analysis on the future of business computing under the newly launched ISG Insights brand.
Chairman and CEO Michael P. Connors (pictured) says the two acquisitions 'demonstrate our firm commitment to offer clients deep analytical, research and forecasting capabilities'. He adds: 'Experton's subscription revenue model, like that of Saugatuck Technology, further expands our growing and more predictable recurring revenue streams, which are targeted to reach 35 percent of firm revenue over the next few years'.
Experton co-founder and CEO Juergen Brettel says the two firms' offerings are 'highly complementary', and adds: 'our research focus aligns perfectly with ISG's growing Digital Services. In addition, our Vendor Benchmarking Services add a new capability to ISG that can be leveraged globally'.
ISG has more than 1,000 employees and operates in 21 countries. Web sites are at www.isg-one.com and www.experton-group.com .
