DIY online survey platform SurveyMonkey has opened an APAC office in Sydney, Australia, with an initial staff of fifteen. The firm, which announced earlier this month it was making about 13 percent of its workforce - or around 100 of its 750 employees - redundant, has had a presence in Australia since May 2015, and appointed former Microsoft and LinkedIn exec Tony Ward (pictured) as MD in Australia and NZ almost exactly a year ago.
Global CEO Zander Lurie told www.mumbrella.com.au Australia would serve as the hub for the company's Asian strategy: 'Australia is one of our strongest markets, where we have great leadership. This part of the world is super important to us... The key markets for us are Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore where we are seeing significant growth'.
Lurie plans long-term to broaden the suite of products SurveyMonkey is offering business - new products like content automation platform TechValidate are being rolled out now.
