Big data analyst SmartBase Solutions has acquired the assets of data driven marketing firm Group 3 Marketing. Both companies are based in Minnesota, USA.
Group 3 was founded in 1988 and its offer includes a database marketing platform which helps clients understand business data from a wide range of sources and find strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for growth. SmartBase says the buy will strengthen its Marketing Analytics and Brand Loyalty solutions for retail clients - one of its key sectors alongside pharma/health and financial services.
The deal will see Group 3's products and services integrated with SmartBase's technology and offered under the SmartBase Solutions name. Existing SmartBase services include the flagship SmartBase IQ Data Platform, for processing of big data; the Analytic Portal, which puts the resulting reports and analytics in a single place for users; and Communication Automation and Marketing Research services.
SmartBase CEO Kris Lynch says Group 3's capabilities and expertise align well with SmartBase's growth strategy, which is centered on data analytics and personalized marketing communications.
