Consumer and media research specialist GfK MRI has partnered with customer profiling and trend measurement software developer Cubeyou, to help clients understand the relation between social media and product usage.GfK MRI's Survey of the American Consumer unearths data about media use, product purchase, brand attitudes and political affiliations; while Cubeyou's own consumer study is powered entirely by social media data. The partnership will link profiles of consumer beliefs and behavior to social media use data from more than ten million accounts, filtered for demographic completeness, and weighted to the US population.
Andrew Arthur, GfK MRI's SVP of Data Integration, says the combination will enable brands to understand where they stand with consumers in the social media world, and learn how to enrich those connections through special offers, events, or mass media advertising.
Cubeyou founder and CEO Federico Treu says users will be able to dig into consumer demographics, psychographics, interests, passions, social behavior, affinities and consumptions through a single platform.
