Social media monitoring specialist Bakamo.Social has appointed former Ipsos and NPD Group exec Jonathan (JD) Deitch as Chief Executive, driving its expansion.
Bakamo's proprietary Deep.Scape methodology pulls out broad themes from the mass of online conversations, highlighting what attracts and motivates participants; while its Social Schemas help clients define needs-based segments and identify the drivers of product choice. Last summer, the firm appointed P&G veteran Mahmoud Ghazal as Global Head of Operations and Delivery, based in a new office in Geneva, Switzerland.
Deitch is a twenty-year MR veteran who began as a research client in the financial services sector, then moved to The NPD Group, where he was Head of Research and Analytics in Europe, and Ipsos, where he led global sample and panel operations. Most recently he was Chief Operating Officer at DIY survey platform AYTM.
Company founder Daniel Fazekas says the business has reached 'an inflection point', adding: 'Our business will benefit both from [Deitch's] leadership and enthusiasm and I feel confident he can bring us to the next level'. Fazekas himself will now move to focus on global sales and business development.
Chairman Dan Foreman comments: 'We're coming out of 2016 with key customer wins and repeat business that have validated our approach. With JD, we have someone with the vision and experience to scale the business heading into 2017. We're delighted he's joined the team'.
