Former IAB Chief Executive Guy Phillipson has been hired by digital marketing agency and online buzz measurement specialist iCrossing, for the role of UK Chairman.Acquired by media and marketing giant Hearst Corporation in 2010, iCrossing offers access to a range of marketing services including paid search, SEO, web development, social media and mobile marketing, research and analytics. Phillipson (pictured), who joins on 1st February, led the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB UK) for the past twelve years. Earlier, he spent six years at Vodafone as Head of UK Advertising, before which he was Marketing Communications Manager at Barclays Bank, and Advertising and Promotions Manager at Granada/Visionhire.
He takes up his new position on a part-time basis, reporting to global CEO Nick Brien, who comments: 'Guy is an experienced veteran of the UK advertising industry and I'm delighted he's joining us to broaden iCrossing's leadership team in the UK. He is a proven driver of marketing transformation, whether through the lens of digital media or technology innovation whilst providing vital strategic thinking for transforming brand marketing across all industry sectors'.
