US-based data collection group Schlesinger Associates has acquired Spanish full-service fieldwork agency BDI Research. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Based in Barcelona, BDI was formerly known as Block de Ideas, has a sister research facility in Madrid and provides a range of qual and quant solutions. It has more than twenty permanent, multicultural market research staff, who speak the main European languages, as well as more than 100 part-time interviewers.
BDI Research operations will continue under the same brand name, led by former owner Rosa Dalet (pictured), who says her team is looking forward to tapping in to Schlesinger's global resources. These include a network of fourteen facilities in the US, companies in Paris, London and Germany, and the Schlesinger Interactive arm, offering online data collection, interactive communities and 'new and evolving technologies'.
Schlesinger President Mike Sullivan adds: 'BDI Research and Schlesinger companies have a long-standing and trusted partnership. We are delighted to be able to bring this talented, multi-lingual team into our family. Our collective capabilities allow us to deliver the highest quality research services in Spain and this acquisition supports our mission of delivering an expert, 'one-stop' solution to our clients' global research needs'.
