After eleven years leading Angus Reid Strategies, Vision Critical, and Maru/Matchbox, Ed Morawski is stepping down as President and Chief Operating Officer.
Maru/Matchbox, which is the tech and communities arm of research and insight company MARU Group, was formed last year through the acquisition of Vision Critical's North American Research Consulting division. Morawski (pictured) joined Angus Reid / Vision Critical in 2006 to establish the division, having earlier worked for Ipsos North America as SVP with a focus on pharmaceutical brand equity and brand management. Prior to Ipsos, he worked with the Angus Reid Group in Vancouver, where he was responsible for marketing, advertising and public affairs research.
Morawski will leave his current role on 10th August, after which he will work for the MARU Group on a part-time consultative basis, reporting to CEO Ged Parton, who will assume leadership of Maru/Matchbox. Commenting on the news, Parton said: 'I want to personally thank Ed for his professional contribution in making Matchbox what it is today. He has been a key part of the leadership team for many years and has been instrumental in the development of the business from start-up to the growth-oriented, market leading company we have today. For me above all, Ed is a lovely man. Ed's kind, gentle outlook; his wit, his sense of fun and good humor is universally appreciated. He has all our best wishes as he takes a break from a full time President and COO position'.
