In New York, consumer insights firm Simmons Research has appointed Arbitron veteran Brad Bedford as Vice President of Media Sales.
Founded in 1952 by Willard Simmons, and now owned by Symphony Technology, the firm measures consumer preferences, attitudes and media behavior by overlaying survey and passive data. Last week, the company launched the Enhanced Media Measurement Study, which will provide marketers with insights into shifts in media consumption and consumer behavior across the US.
Bedford (pictured) joins with a background in media/consumer MR including cross-media measurement and research analytics, and quant and qual/lifestyle analyses. He has worked as a consultant for the past two years, and before this spent more than three decades at Arbitron (now Nielsen Audio), where he latterly served as VP International Sales & Marketing, leading global expansion and multimedia currency initiatives.
In his new role, Bedford will help drive revenue growth and innovation across the media vertical. Chief Client Officer Jackie Anderson comments: 'We are excited to build upon our client-first strategy by bringing Brad on board. Anyone who has had the pleasure of working with Brad knows he is relentless in ensuring his clients' success and that's why we knew he'd be the perfect addition to round out our media team in New York'.
