Maru/Blue Hires First COO

In Canada, respondent access specialist Maru/Blue has hired former Toluna / Ipsos exec Julie Paul as its first Chief Operations Officer.

Launched two months ago by tech-enabled insights group Maru, and headquartered in Toronto, Maru/Blue focuses on giving clients access to known respondents from market communities across North America. These include the firm's Maru Voice Canada (formerly operating as the Angus Reid Forum), Maru Voice Business Canada and Springboard America.

Paul (pictured) joins after more than five years at community and survey tech provider Toluna, latterly as SVP, Digital Services, helping clients build online research communities. Before this she spent fifteen years with Ipsos - initially as Senior Research Manager at Ipsos Reid, and latterly as SVP, Interactive Customer Panels.

In her new Vancouver-based role, Paul will oversee operations, community management, recruitment, and member services, while continuing to develop and improve the firm's communities.
