Maru Group's respondent access specialist Maru/Blue has acquired Hispanic panel Tú Cuentas, which targets Spanish speaking communities in the US. Terms were not disclosed.Founded in 2010 by Latina entrepreneurs Larissa Acosta and Olga Bueno, Tú Cuentas offers access to more than 8,000 registered members - the name translates as 'you count' and/or 'you tell'. A proprietary online research platform gathers insights from both open community discussions and private MR communities, combining user generated product reviews, moderated discussion forums and community polls. Participation in these activities earns members points redeemable for cash as well as opportunities to take part in engagement sampling campaigns through which they receive free products to try and share with their online and off-line networks.
Maru/Blue says the addition of Tú Cuentas to its range of online communities will significantly strengthen the company's research capabilities with the Hispanic population. It adds to Maru/Blue's existing communities Springboard America, Springboard America Business, Maru Voice Canada (formerly operating as the Angus Reid Forum), and Maru Voice Canada Business.
Ged Parton (pictured), CEO of Maru Group, says these are exciting times. 'We have recently launched Maru/Blue, opened a new hub in Latin America and made a raft of senior appointments across the group in the first half of 2018. Our acquisition of Tú Cuentas represents another strategic addition to the group that will consolidate and enhance Maru's insight capabilities within one of America's largest communities'.
