In the US, digital PR platform TrendKite has acquired social media influencer database Insightpool and social media intelligence firm Union Metrics. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The Insightpool database is used to identify audiences, engage, and measure results with more than 700 million social media influencers across more than 100 social media networks; while Union Metrics delivers 'enterprise-quality' social media intelligence to businesses of all sizes. TrendKite uses artificial intelligence and big data analytics to optimize the impact public relations has on a brand's reputation, web site traffic and business goals.
Teams from both companies - including Insightpool CEO Devon Wijesinghe and Union Metrics CEO Hayes Davis - will join TrendKite, whose CEO Erik Huddleston (pictured) says the buys provide his company with the last two components needed for a complete PR analytics platform.
