Ascential Buys Price and Promotion Analyst Brand View

B2B information specialist Ascential has acquired price and promotion analytics provider Brand View. The deal includes an initial cash consideration of £29.8m, with a further amount of up to £8.2m deferred subject to achieving targets.

Brand View offers data and analysis to retailers and manufacturers wanting to measure and manage pricing and promotion activity, and drive both online and off-line sales. The firm has offices in Reading, UK; Stamford Connecticut, USA; and Paris, France, and had unaudited revenue for the year to June 2018 of £13m

According to Ascential (formerly known as EMAP), Brand View will add to its existing eCommerce analytics offering, including its Sales & Share and Digital Shelf services currently provided by OCR and Clavis. Brand View will now form part of Ascential's 'Sales' segment and will be integrated with these two firms along with Planet Retail RNG.
