Online community and survey tech provider Toluna has expanded its respondent reach by 60% through its WeChat Mobile Survey applet, since acquiring the applet's creator Chinese respondent and survey provider KuRunData sixteen months ago.
KuRunData provides online research services and mobile panels with millions of registered members, combined with a survey platform to deliver access to insight into the Chinese market. Its WeChat Mobile Survey applet was launched on the back of the popular WeChat app, which offers more than one billion users access to messaging, social media and mobile payment capabilities within one platform.
Since its launch last July, the market adoption of the applet has increased respondent reach by approximately 60% year over year, and Toluna claims that with the expansion of the WeChat applet, KuRunData has the largest, most well-profiled online and mobile panel in the region, with more than five million registered members in China.
Ludovic Milet (pictured), MD, Toluna Asia Pacific, comments: 'The survey capabilities we have through now via the WeChat App not only increase our survey respondent reach, but also help to expedite survey completion, and we can deliver more immediate global insights to clients. We've seen mass adoption from global clients like Unilever, and Chinese brands like Tencent, in a very short period of time. WeChat users view the experience as an innovative and unique way to provide feedback to brands.'
