Pureprofile Reports on Strong Half Year

January 30 2024

Australia-based insights and data business Pureprofile has announced revenue up 8% to $AUD 24m for the half year ended 31st December, and EBITDA of $AUD 2.4m, up 6% or 21% on a like-for-like basis.

Martin FilzPureprofile delivers online research solutions to agencies and brands, and operates the Audience Builder platform which hosts panels for a number of global partners. The Company, founded in 2000 and based in Surry Hills, NSW, Australia, now operates in North America, Europe and APAC.

Today's figures are preliminary, un-audited and exclude the group's discontinued Pure.amplify Media businesses. The 21% figures excludes significant items and the impact of the change to cash-based STI.

The revenue rise was driven by record revenue from the Data & Insights and Platform businesses, with Platform revenue up 104%. Financial year Q2 results (Oct-Dec '23), 'though still on the whole positive, were weaker than those for Q1 reflecting 'a softer global trading environment', according to the firm.

The Data & Insights business in Q2 saw strong growth with a boost from India, Singapore and the US - while ANZ revenue declined 5%

CEO Martin Filz (pictured) comments: 'Regardless of the softer October/November trading conditions, we are delighted with the H1 results. Revenue growth of 8% on pcp and like-for-like EBITDA growth of 21% (excl. significant items), highlights the underlying momentum in our global business and underlying margin expansion. Platform continued its strong revenue growth trajectory in Q2, up 78% on pcp. Rest of World revenue growth continued to be strong in the half, up 22% and contributed 42% of the group revenue, which is the largest revenue share to date. The results continue to show that at Pureprofile we have industry leading teams delighting our clients'.

International expansion - in particular in mainland European - and panellist growth are key focuses for the remainder of the year, as are technology improvements including internally focused AI solutions developed in H1. The firm expects full financial year '24 revenue of $AUD 46m to $AUD 51m and EBITDA margin in the range of 7% to 9%.
