Flat Panel research specialist DisplaySearch is expanding eastwards with the addition of two new Directors and a new analyst in Asia. A majority of the company's 31-strong workforce is now based in Asia - with six staff in Japan, four in Taiwan and three each in China and Korea.
In Korea, Neo (Seung-Ho) Kim joins the company in the new position of Director of Korean Display Market Research. He has more than 15 years' display experience, having held marketing management and analysis positions at BOE-Hyundai Display Technology, LG Electronics and HP Korea. In his new role, he will be responsible for tracking the activities of Korean TFT, LCD and OLED manufacturers.
In Taiwan, Brian Chen fills the equivalent role of Director of Taiwan Display Market Research. He joins the firm from AU Optronics, Taiwan's largest LCD supplier, where he was a senior engineer responsible for notebook PC panel product management and market intelligence.
In China, Jelly Zhang joins as a Pricing Analyst and Office Manager. Previously employed as a translator, foreign trade assistant and administrator, she will track global e-tail and domestic retail pricing for display-based products, and will manage the Shenzhen office.
DisplaySearch President and CEO Ross Young says the 'additional expertise and bandwidth' that the new members of staff bring will help the company to serve the growing market and provide 'the most reliable and detailed display intelligence'.
