US-based Internet research agency OTX (Online Testing eXchange) has opened its first European office in London. Ian Wright, a former board director at Ipsos UK, will lead the company's European operations.
The London office will provide services for existing OTX clients from the movie industry in Europe, while continuing the agency's expansion into advertising and packaged goods research.
Wright, who worked for Ipsos for 12 years, is planning to appoint a number of senior members of staff - with both client sector expertise and research know-how - over the coming months.
He believes OTX will change the way online research is carried out in Europe: 'Very few online surveys in Europe fully use the opportunities the internet offers - the result being boring looking surveys which are often long and repetitive. OTX has developed leading edge solutions including online virtual reality to bring surveys alive.'
OTX was founded in 2000 by Shelley Zalis, and achieved sales of $35million in 2005. It specialises in consumer brand and entertainment industry research, with major film studios among its clients. Bruce Friend, who heads the company's entertainment division, was previously Senior VP of Research for Columbia TriStar Worldwide Marketing Group.
The company's web site is at www.otxresearch.com.
