US panels and software firm GMI (Global Market Insite, Inc.) has opened new offices in Los Angeles and Atlanta, and announced two appointments to support them. Thyra Lees-Smith joins as Sales Director for the L.A. area and Barry Morsillo for the Southeast Region, based in Atlanta.
Lees-Smith spent seven years at Nielsen Entertainment, most recently as Manager of Business Development in client services. She will focus on selling to researchers within the local entertainment industry. Prior to Nielsen, she worked with product placement agency Norm Marshall and Associates on projects including the Austin Powers/Heineken account. She will report to Sean Case, Director of West Coast Sales, based at GMI's global headquarters in Seattle.
Morsillo will establish a regional sales operation for a region including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. He joins from ForeSee Results, Inc., and was previously at Nielsen/NetRatings, Inc. - in both firms he held the same role, Director of Sales for the Southeast Region. He reports to Mike Billingsley, MD of Central / Southeast Sales, based in Austin, TX.
Founder and CEO Rob Monster says the two new arrivals combine the leadership skills of seasoned managers with 'a visionary command of how information technology can support market research.'
