Jim Follett, former COO of NOP World, is to replace Bev Weiman as Chief Executive Officer of panels firm Survey Sampling International (SSI). Weiman, who co-founded SSI along with Tom Danbury in 1977, cited personal reasons for her departure.
Follett has held global management positions at NOP Worldwide and senior leadership roles at Information Resources, Inc., and brings process re-engineering experience in addition to MR and consulting nous. He also worked client side in sales and marketing at Nestle Waters (Perrier), Cadbury Schweppes (Motts), General Foods and P&G. He has an MBA from Columbia University and a BA from Williams College.
SSI board member Peter Wilde describes Follett as 'the right leader in the right place at the right time', and says the board is 'highly confident that Jim Follett's leadership skills, industry-oriented experience, and commitment to excellence will shape SSI's future in a very positive fashion.'
Robert Kamerschen, Chairman of the Board of SSI, pays tribute to Weiman's 'vision and leadership' and says her value to the firm had been 'immeasurable'. He adds: 'She has been a driving force behind the Company's impressive growth over the last 30 years, first commercializing the survey sampling product and then successfully transforming that product to adapt to the new age of electronic media.'
SSI now has an international staff of more than 220 employees representing more than 15 countries and 25 languages. The firm is online at www.surveysampling.com .
