DVL Smith Group Re-Boots

Market intelligence agency the DVL Smith Group has officially re-launched, backed by Australian marketing group, Photon - owner of MR agency The Leading Edge.


DVL Smith is led by ex-MRS and Illuminas Chairman David Smith, and John Marinopoulos, ex-MD of The Strategic Intelligence Group which is now merged with DVL Smith. Derek Leddie, Head of Business Intelligence at Photon, becomes Chairman of the DVL Smith Group. Leddie cites Smith's worldwide reputation for excellence in market intelligence as the deciding factor in backing the firm.

The new agency will provide client-side organisations with advice on how to commission research, and interpret MR alongside other types of primary, secondary and internal business data. A Marketing Intelligence Advisory Service training course, designed to equip novice clients with essential research skills, will also be part of the firm's offer.

Smith, who broke news of the impending relaunch to DRNO in January (Second Innings for DVL Smith Group www.mrweb.com/drno/news6289.htm ), commented: 'Our creativity and our reputation for being thought leaders, means that we are building a 'new category' of market research.
