GfK 'To Buy Chinese Firms'

GfK is planning to further expand its operations eastwards with acquisitions of Chinese competitor agencies Monitor and Sino Market Research, according to a report in the China Business Post.

The paper notes that a previous bid by GfK to take over the two firms failed in 2000, and says the new investment is planned to take place in June. Terms are said to be largely agreed but not disclosed as yet.
