Paul Flatters has joined London-based research consultancy Opinion Leader as its new MD, providing the firm's founders with time to concentrate on their joint CEO roles with parent company Chime Communications.
Flatters joins from consumer agency the Future Foundation, where he had been Chief Executive since March 2002. He was previously Head of Analysis & Research at BBC News, responsible for a team of 20 analysts and a member of the News Editorial Board. Prior to this he was the Research Director at the Consumers' Association, and an Associate Director at the Henley Centre for Forecasting.
Flatters is a regular conference speaker and has a body of published work focusing on management and brand strategy trends.
The appointment allows the firm's founders and Joint Chief Executives Viki Cooke and Deborah Mattinson to focus on expanding Chime's research arm, which as well as Opinion Leader, includes Facts International and Ledbury Research.
The company's specialisms include reaching hard-to-access groups, understanding complex social policy issues, identifying drivers of reputation and public opinion polling. It also runs a monthly omnibus panel of 'top-level decision-makers' and is online at www.opinionleader.co.uk.
