MR outsourcing specialist and panel provider Pulse Group is launching a new qualitative division, including state-of-the-art viewing facilities for focus groups. Qual veteran Chan Choy Ping, previously of NFO and Synovate, will lead the division.
Pulse says the move 'illustrates the growing strength of the outsourcing model across all types of research methodologies.' 'We're starting to see a shift in the way qualitative research is conducted' comments Ping, 'where all or part of the fieldwork is outsourced, leaving the researcher more thinking time to concentrate on the IP, analysis and insight generation.'
The group has also formed a strategic alliance for online qual in Asia with online solutions and software provider Itracks. The partnership will provide online bulletin boards and focus groups in a range of languages, recruited from the Planet Pulse network. Jim Longo, Itracks VP, Client Development, says his firm has seen an upsurge of Asian interest in online methods, and adds 'we're excited to round out our patented qualitative offerings with multi-lingual technical support in the Asian region.'
Pulse also announced this week the appointment of Andrew Yeoh as Client Development Associate Director. Yeoh has seven years' MR experience, most recently in business development and client servicing at TNS Worldpanel.
