In Texas, search marketing specialist Range Online Media has launched an in-house Strategy and Research division and promoted Dustin Engel to head the unit, in the role of Director of Consumer Strategy and Research.
Engel joined Range at the end of 2006 with more than ten years' experience in Internet technology, marketing and media strategy gained in consumer and business products and services. He was previously Head of Strategic Marketing at Match.com, Director of Business Development at American Greetings Interactive, Director of Online Marketing for Stamps.com and a key member of the launch team at Blockbuster Online. Engel is a graduate of Seattle University with a BA in Business Administration and a major in Marketing.
In addition to Range's own proprietary, historical search and media data, the new department will use data from consumer research organisations such as Jupiter Research and Nielsen//NetRatings. Combining vendor statistics and account histories, Engel and his team will provide clients with information on consumer trends and industry developments in the form of monthly consumer insight reports and specific client strategy reports.
Misty Locke, President and Co-Founder of Range Online Media comments: 'Dustin is a talented, intuitive marketer, and he is passionate about diving into data and exploring the story of consumer behaviour and industry trends. We have been working on a concentrated Strategy and Research division as part of our long-term client growth goals, and Dustin is the ideal candidate to focus on those efforts.'
Range was founded in 2001 to offer online marketing services, including pay for placement, natural search optimisation, online media placement, strategic planning, and performance optimisation. The firm has additional offices in New York, California, Utah and Canada and is on the web at www.RangeOnlineMedia.com.
