Business intelligence software provider Business Objects is to acquire German-based data quality firm FUZZY! Informatik. The firms say the combination will offer clients a 'best of breed solution' to applying data quality processes to customers, products or region-specific data.
Founded in 1994 as a spin-off of the former DaimlerBenz, FUZZY! Informatik is a privately-held company which processes and cleans European address data and creates directory content.
Once the transaction is complete, customers of both companies will have access to new capabilities and solutions including data integration, data quality, and metadata management.
Joerg Limberg, Business Objects VP and GM Central Europe explained: 'By leveraging FUZZY!'s talent and know-how, we can deliver even stronger product offerings to our current customers around the globe while strengthening our data quality presence in Europe.'
Business Objects was launched in Paris in 1990. Today, through its global network of offices, the firm creates products and services which extract meaning and context from business data and information.
Eberhard Franke, CEO of FUZZY! Informatik commented: 'Our brand awareness in Europe and leading technology coupled with Business Objects' comprehensive Enterprise Information Management portfolio delivers a powerful punch, and I'm confident our clients will benefit immensely from the synergies and advantages that this acquisition brings to life.'
