Arbitron's Portable People Meter (PPM) has been selected as one of TIME Magazine's 'Best Inventions of 2007' alongside such icons as the Apple iPhone and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
The magazine chose 45 winners from 120 contenders, grouping them into twelve categories including such headings as Aircraft, Space, Environment, and Computers. Winners are considered to be important, fill a new need and make people's lives better. TIME reporter Lev Grossman says his team looked for inventions that were considered 'brilliant.'
The PPM, one of three winners in the Entertainment category, is featured on page 82 of the magazine's print edition and online here.
