In the UK, online market research agency YouGov has launched a new syndicated tracking service to connect with the 32% of the population who were born between 1946 and 1964.
Through the YouGov panel, the new YourGeneration service can access around 60,000 of these 'Boomers' who are available to answer client questions on topics such as attitudes to life, ethical consumerism, marketing categories and brands.
Head of Consumer Consulting John Blake explained why YouGov has decided to focus on this demographic, which he says accounts for 80% of the country's wealth and one third of all consumer spending: 'Many Boomers have the opinion that very few brands understand people of their age and as a result they feel alienated and ignored by advertisers.'
The quarterly tracker will contain core topics for each survey, as well as additional modules such as marketing and communications, technology and health, financial services and retail, and media and leisure.

In March, YouGov announced interim results for the six months ended 31 January 2008, with organic revenue growth of 43% while profit before tax increased 30% to £3.0m.
