GfK NOP has appointed former GfK Executive Allan Dib as Head of its Marketing Effectiveness Centre of Excellence, tasked with leading the development of new research approaches for testing, benchmarking and improving marketing effectiveness.Dib joins with more than 15 years' market research and online marketing experience. Until January, he was MD of Nielsen//NetRatings Australia, but left after just seven months, citing 'personal issues'. Prior to this, he held senior management roles with Ipsos-ASI, NFO World Group (now TNS), ACNielsen Custom Research, LookSmart.com, ninemsn.com and John Fairfax Publications; all in Sydney, Australia. He also spent five years as VP Brand and Communications with GfK in AsiaPacific and in North America.
Commenting on his appointment, GfK NOP Deputy MD Richard Jameson said: 'Allan's intense understanding of marketing and advertising effectiveness across the range of media, industry sectors and geographies will further strengthen our ability to support our clients in extracting maximum return on investment from their marketing activities.'
In response Dib, who is based at GfK NOP's London headquarters at Blackfriars Bridge, hinted that the firm has 'some very interesting initiatives' in the pipeline.
