Research Industry
There is no MR Industry as we would define it, with only minimal and recently-introduced elements of a market economy. If and when there is one, we'll do our best to involve it in this page!According to Wikipedia:China and South Korea are the biggest trade partners of North Korea, with trade with China increasing 15% to US$1.6bn in 2005, and trade with South Korea increasing 50% to over $1bn for the first time in 2005. Key exports include machine tools, minerals and metals.
The UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office notes that the DPRK has a predominantly urban population, and an economy whose formerly dominant 'heavy industry, including steel, cement and machinery, and mining has declined since the 1990s with light industries, especially textiles, growing. Development of the IT sector has enjoyed high-level backing.'
Recently there have been some 'green shots' of a market economy.
