March '04 Edition - We're Back!
Exhausted by the effort of producing 20 pages for the Christmas / 5th Birthday edition, it's taken us nearly 3 months to produce the next MRWho but we hope it was worth the wait.
We kick off with the review of the UK MR job market in late 2003 - a mixed bag with more and more jobs available but salaries not yet climbing, in fact dipping back to 2002 levels in most cases. Love and Hate talks to HR Managers in research agencies and finds one with a career developing nicely and another ready to give it the boot. Our skills article returns to the perennial favourite of online research with input from five of the UK's leading lights, a good mix of clients and agencies. As well as the usual jobs and people moves news there's also a transcript of a recent conversation overheard on a train which proves what quallies the world over already knew - moderating focus groups can be Mordor.
MRWho has about 900 subscribers including a majority of the bosses of major UK agencies and around 320 blue chip clientside researchers. It's free and comes in a .pdf format so most people print it out, although you can read it on-screen if you prefer. The March edition was published on 16/3/04 and is available for download from this site (see bottom right) - you'll need a password and for this you'll need to subscribe. If you'd like to, just email us and say so, giving us your email address (and those of anyone else there who wants it), your JobTitle(s) and the name of your company - this will only be used for our own stats, ie so we can give advertisers general information about the types of people reading it - and for our own analysis / edification. Re confidentiality of this: we are MRS members and you know the drill! Please state clearly whether you just want passwords to download previous editions or if [like 90% plus] you wish to receive forthcoming issues too. There's no reason not to as it's free.
If you're not in an HR function and you think your company's personnel or training people would be interested, please let them know - there is no limit to the number of subscribers per company, of course.
