Serial entrepreneur Pravin Shekar, who is also the founder of Indian panel provider krea, has been appointed Council Treasurer of industry body ESOMAR.

Prior to launching krea in 2010, Shekar (pictured) co-founded and served as CEO of Dexterity KPO Services, and was an Associate at Cognizant Technology Solutions.

He has been an ESOMAR Council member since 2011, and is the first member from India to be appointed to the Council's Executive Committee. Shekar takes over his new ESOMAR role from Michael Bending of Boehringer Ingelheim in Germany.

Commenting on his appointment, ESOMAR President Dan Foreman said: 'Pravin will build on the great foundational work that former Treasurer, Michael, has put in place over the previous Council term. Pravin has extensive experience in commercial and non-profit organisations and we are looking forward to the tremendous impact his appointment will have in furthering ESOMAR's mission'.
