Machine data analysis firm Splunk has appointed Brian Goldfarb as CMO.
Goldfarb's experience including leading marketing efforts for firms including Salesforce, Google and Microsoft. In his new role, reporting to President and CEO Doug Merritt, he will oversee global marketing strategy and drive revenue growth across the Splunk product portfolio. He replaces Steve Sommer, who is retiring but will continue to provide marketing advice to the firm.
He worked as SVP of Marketing at Salesforce, overseeing a global marketing organization responsible for generating more than $1 billion in revenue and leading the rebranding of the Salesforce1 Platform as App Cloud. He was previously CMO of the Google Cloud Platform, and before this spent nearly ten years at Microsoft, latterly heading up product marketing for Windows Azure.
