In New York, Nielsen has brought in Eric Bosco as Chief Product Officer of its recently formed Global Media division.
At the end of last year, Nielsen announced plans to spin off its Global Connect business (similar, but not identical to the former 'Buy' segment), creating two independent publicly traded companies: Nielsen Global Media and Nielsen Global Connect.
Bosco (pictured) joins the former from TripAdvisor, where he served as Experiences Global VP Product and Design, responsible for leading the Global Product and Design division, with teams based in various locations across North America, Australia and Europe. Prior to this, he was CEO of online marketing firm ChoiceStream, after a stint as Chief Product Officer, EVP at Comscore. Earlier, he served as Chief Product and US Operations Officer of Advertising.com, a division of AOL Platforms; and he worked for Oracle, helping architect the overall design of the firm's flagship systems management product, Oracle Enterprise Manager.
As head of Nielsen Global Media's product organization, Bosco will lead product strategy and execution, with responsibility for every element of the division's product framework with emphasis on designing and creating products to serve Nielsen's clients and the media industry. A central part of Bosco's role will be delivering a unified product strategy that aligns with Nielsen's unified technology and data framework.
Karthik Rao, Leader of Product, Technology and Operations for Nielsen's Media division, comments: 'Nielsen Global Media is focused on continuing to be a best-in-class, product-led organization, delivering solutions to clients that help them efficiently navigate a continually changing environment. Eric's leadership, history, expertise and success in developing products will no doubt help Nielsen Global Media provide the industry with the products they need to address these challenges and capitalize on this unprecedented opportunity.'
