In the US, the Board of the Market Research Institute International (MRII) has elected Stephanie Harris as Board President for 2021. She succeeds Michael Mermelstein, President of Nichols Research.
Founded in 1996 by a consortium of industry leaders, MRII offers online market research courses authored and continually updated by industry subject matter experts. Through a partnership with the University of Georgia, MRII offers The Principles of Market Research, The Principles of Mobile Market Research and The Principles of Pharmaceutical Market Research. Harris currently serves as Associate, User Experience Research Operations at Management Consulting Group, before which she was a Senior Consumer Insights Consultant at Strong-Bridge Envision; Manager, Global Market Research at First Data Corporation; and Manager, Market Research at Cox Communications. Earlier, she spent around twelve years at Chrysler, latterly as Senior Manager, Product Development Research.
A member of the Board since 2015, Harris has served on the curriculum committee since 2016 and is the current committee Chair. Commenting on her appointment, Harris said: 'MRII is the gold standard in teaching the core body of knowledge and principles needed to be successful in the market research profession. I look forward to working with the dedicated members of the board providing quality market research education'.
Marjette Stark, Owner/President of Stark Solutions, is the new MRII President-Elect, and Shelly Ray, VP of Client Relationships at MMR Research, has been elected new MRII Treasurer. All current Directors At Large were re-nominated, with no new directors named and none replaced.
