Job Spec: This newly created leadership role presents the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and ambitious agency which makes a difference to the lives of people whose voices are often unheard, and to be part of its continued growth and development, working alongside bright, energetic and entrepreneurial people.
They provide research, evaluation, engagement and strategy work with children and young people, minority ethnic groups, culturally diverse communities, people living in vulnerable circumstances, people with protected characteristics and people who often go unheard. Their vision is one where people who have been traditionally unheard are fairly represented and have the power to influence decision making.
Their current clients are mainly public sector (local councils/local government/NHS trusts) and charities and they also do some work in the private sector.
They have been successful to date, and there are lots of incoming opportunities for new work. They also proactively bid for business. They are now at the point where they want to build out the business; they have set a strategy and have a clear plan, and this newly created role is key to their growth plans.
This role heads up their Impact team which is the team carrying out research and evaluation. Their work is predominantly qual with some quant and some evaluation and they see the opportunity to develop all parts of their offer. As such, we need someone with a strong qual background, including working with minority and unheard groups, someone who can analyse quant data and someone who understands and can oversee evaluation. They are super-creative in their approach, and enjoy using a wide range of techniques to help them both uncover insights and deliver them to their clients in memorable and meaningful ways - so this role will suit someone who is passionate about and has a track record in this.
You will be client facing and play a key role providing strategic advice and counsel to clients; you will also be responsible for delivering high quality work to budget and on time, working alongside your operational colleagues.
Critically, this role will spearhead their growth ambitions and will have an annual commercial target to achieve. As such, we are looking for a track record of winning qual, mixed methods and evaluation work. As part of this, we need to see evidence of winning bids with a value of £100k+ per bid. This is a must-have for them - we need a commercial individual whho can win and deliver.
We need to see strong leadership experience; this role is pivotal to helping the organisation develop and grow and to helping them shape their future. Processes, procedures and systems are in place and this role will see you play a key role in the continual improvement of these, as the business grows. As such, we need someone who enjoys being in a formative and agile environment.
And we need someone who wants to lead and develop a team; the team will grow over time, and management skills are key.
