This division is well known for the brilliant work they do across society and how they support government decision making across policy areas such as road and rail sectors, other transport systems and active travel and many more related areas.
The Opportunity:
This is an opportunity to join the team as a Research and Evaluation Director, you will be providing robust evidence and strategic insights to policy makers, government bodies, transport operators, and not-for-profit organisations. The work spans and cuts across areas such as environmental sustainability, public health and wellbeing, safety, and local and regional development.
They are looking for a commercial and dynamic leader, experienced researcher with substantial commercial and business development experience. As a Research Director, you will direct high-profile studies that inform decision-making and policy within government, as well as work with non-governmental bodies, agencies, and charities. You will also lead a key client account and drive growth in the business.
You will take responsibility and accountability for overall delivery and quality of projects, design research methods that stand up to scrutiny, and provide clients with quality and innovation.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Leading proposals and revenue generation, including making pricing recommendations.
- Developing a strong understanding of clients' needs and helping to grow the business. This includes leading growth through responsibility for a key client account, and/or growing our business in new areas - with new clients, or in new research methodologies or advisory and consultancy areas within transport and infrastructure.
- Supporting and supervising team members
- Effectively overseeing relationships with suppliers and internal operations colleagues to ensure the objectives of the research are met on time and to budget.
About you:
The ideal candidate should be a highly capable methods expert specialising in either quantitative or mixed method research. Experience in transport and infrastructure policy is desirable but not essential. If you have a passion for public sector research and for supporting and informing government then there is no better place to work.
