Job Spec: This is a rare opportunity for an established social/public sector quantitative or mixed methods Research Director or Associate Director to join a highly regarded, growing team focused on the transition to a net zero and climate resilient economy. Much as experience in these areas would be ideal, the team is open to people with experience in other policy areas so long as there is a genuine interest - so this is an opportunity to focus on an area where you may have a real passion - and to make a difference to policy and strategic decisions.

This team works for a wide range of clients - government departments and agencies, EU bodies, philanthropic organisations, regulators and charities. Around 25% of their work is European / international.

They work closely with the UK government and its agencies to help them design, deliver and evaluate policies around key areas including decarbonisation, clean growth, climate risk awareness, circular economy...

To give a flavour, recent projects include: helping understand the scale of shared natural resources and public attitudes in relation to them (this was in conjunction with an international government and some extremely high profile public figures were involved in the commentary); research around industrial de-carbonisation; informing the national waste strategy; people's perceptions of ocean health; a thought leadership piece around net zero living (they do lots of thought leadership).

Members of the team told us they really enjoy being a part of research in real time - they are really able to see the impact and get involved as the issues unfold.

This is a very international team (with people from Ecuador, Brazil, Greece, Spain...) - they love this diversity. It is a very friendly, supportive, and ambitious team - there is a lot of autonomy (no micro-management!) and a really collaborative atmosphere where they are all ready and willing to help each other out. They also have a great social calendar!

This is an ideal role for a Research Director or an experienced Associate Director looking to make a real difference in an interesting and important field. The role will see you involved in all aspects of the work - including writing winning proposals, client development, overseeing large, complex, multi-year programmes etc... They need someone who is comfortable leading a team, and helping support junior colleagues in their development.

They are open to people who have either a quantitative or mixed methods background. You will need strong commercial/client development experience, and you will need to be confident ensuring complex projects are delivered to a high standard, to budget and timescale.

Business is booming and it's a fantastic time to join a growing team of go-getters!

This prestigious organisation team is well known and recognised for their robust methodologies, innovative approach and strategic outputs. A highly innovative and forward-thinking environment, this is a place for people who love to take ownership and make things happen - you are given autonomy, with support to do just that. The people here are genuinely curious and interested in what they do. The training on offer is second-to-none and development opportunities, here and overseas should you wish, are huge.
