Melbourne, Australia-based mobile researcher MDI has expanded its footprint to London, with the appointment of former GfK NOP leader Arno Hummerston as Director - Europe.Launched in 2014 as 'Mobile Digital Indaba' by former TNS exec James Fergusson (and now known as Mobile Digital Insights), MDI also has existing bases in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Miami, Utah and Dallas. The firm operates in more than 40 countries and delivers qual and quant 'in-the-moment' and longitudinal research through digital platforms and mobile solutions.
Hummerston (pictured) most recently worked at sampling automation provider Lucid as Head of Marketing and Head of Product, having initially been the firm's VP of Corporate Development. Before this, he was MD/Global Product Director Communications and Digital at GfK NOP, where he worked for nearly seven years; and he was MD of Global Interactive at TNS, in charge of the group's digital research strategy. Earlier, he served as Head of Interactive at Ipsos, and MD at ProActive International.
In his new role, Hummerston is tasked with servicing and building MDI's business with UK and European-based clients Commenting on the appointment, Fergusson said: 'Arno brings to MDI a wealth of digital and mobile research experience and an inherent innovative mindset I'm delighted to welcome him to the team'.
