Chris Chapo, formerly SVP of Data and Analytics at clothing retailer GAP, has joined AI-customer data platform (CDP) Amperity as Vice President of Customer Success, responsible for expanding the analytics and customer intelligence offering.Amperity helps companies identify, connect and understand their customers to improve marketing performance, deliver customer insights and offer 'world-class' customer experiences. Last summer, the firm raised $50m, which it has been using to launch new capabilities and fuel expansion into new verticals. Then in November, it acquired customer intelligence and analytics platform Custora, which uses AI to uncover insights about each shopper, then provides an interface for marketers to activate cross-functional, cross-channel strategies.
Chapo (pictured) joins Amperity with more than two decades' retail analytics experience. In his most recent role at GAP, he led the team responsible for data-driven, evidence-based strategies across the enterprise - from customer and marketing to supply chain to product operations. Before this, he led data teams at firms including Apple, Intuit and JCPenney. His background includes building data science organizations and platforms, and he has applied statistics and analytics to a variety of business functions including marketing, customer experience, loyalty, customer service/support, and supply chain/inventory.
