In the UK, Bristol-based insight industry language specialist EMPOWER has hired Russell Carleton for the newly created role of IT Manager.Founded in 1997 by Ruth Partington and previously known as RP Translate, the firm specialises in providing bespoke MR language solutions for research agencies, corporate insight departments, marketing consultancies and drug manufacturers. Last October it secured £150k in private equity funding to develop new technology, and Carleton's appointment is part of phase two of the company's use of this round.
Based in South West England, Carleton joins with 24 years' experience working predominantly for SMEs, including pet care brand Bob Martin. He originally trained in engineering, and brings what the firm calls a highly-specialist approach to systems and investigative problem-solving.
In this new role, Carleton is charged with progressing infrastructure, cyber security and system agility developments.
