In the US, eCommerce specialist David Weissman has launched a company called Humankind, allowing retailers to connect their product experts with online shoppers through one-to-one SMS conversations.Weissman (pictured) has more than twenty years' eCommerce consultancy experience, gained at companies including Target, Dermstore and GSI Commerce. His new platform provides shoppers with hand-selected recommendations from experts, with bespoke landing pages tailored for individual shoppers.
Commenting on the launch, Weissman said: 'Despite the changing landscape, shopping online is still a DIY activity for consumers. We want to put the customer back into the center of the experience and foster what we call 'human commerce', or H-Commerce - highly-personalized, one-to-one experiences with real product experts that are scalable, efficient and extremely profitable for retailers'.
