In India, Tesco-owned customer data firm dunnhumby has named Prithvesh Katoch as Global Head
of Client Data Services. The firm has also promoted Chhavi Sinha to the role of Global Head of Data Engineering, while Nitesh Maan joins as Director of Media Engineering.
The company analyses more than 395 million shopper baskets and nine billion data records every week, helping thousands of brands and suppliers in the grocery and drug sectors to understand how each of their individual products is performing with different types of shoppers. Established in 2008, dunnhumby India focuses on data engineering, data science and product development with expertise in price and promotions, category management, customer knowledge and engagement, and media delivery.
Katoch (pictured) joined the company nine years ago, with responsibility for developing and shaping the Data Engineering team. Prior to this he worked with NW airlines, American Express and Accenture consulting, working in verticals including finance, telecoms and media. CTO David Jack comments: 'I am looking at Prithvesh to define the long-term data strategy, identify new ways to enable faster monetisation of the data for our partners and ensure we are able to deliver more value, more efficiently'.
Sinha, who joined dunnhumby in 2011, has seventeen years of engineering and technology experience, and in her previous role led the firm's APAC Data Engineering team. She now reports to Katoch. Maan, who has more than fifteen years' engineering and product development experience gained in India and the US, will report to Kyle Fugere, Global Head of Product Engineering for Media and Customer Engagement. Manoj Madhusudanan, Head of dunnhumby India, adds: 'With the added firepower of Chhavi and Nitesh, we are setting the stage for taking the engineering and product development footprint of dunnhumby India to the next level'.
