Los Angeles-based consumer insights and analytics business MarketCast has hired former NBCUniversal exec Carmen Palmer for its newly created role of Chief Product Officer.
Last year, MarketCast integrated its previous acquisitions of social digital opinion measurement firm Fizziology, custom research and insights specialist Insight Strategy Group, and sports researcher Turnkey Intelligence under the MarketCast brand and leadership team. Palmer (pictured) joins after three years at NBCUniversal, where she served as Senior Director in the firm's Content Distribution Digital Products team, developing and launching data and analytics tools for the broadcast and streaming sides of the business. Prior to this, she worked for Yahoo!, latterly as Senior Director Product Management, Search and Advertising, managing product teams responsible for creating new products and services to optimize and measure online ad campaigns.
Commenting on the appointment, CEO John Batter said: 'We believe the future of research and analytics will be powered by fusing primary research methodologies with big data sources and technology, and Carmen's addition to our leadership team fast tracks our efforts and vision. Her experience managing large product teams inside big media businesses, and working against tough deadlines with multiple data partners, makes her the perfect fit for our growing team and roadmap.'
