Indonesia-based customer analytics platform MoEngage, fresh from a $30m Series D funding, has announced the appointment of Jason Smith as VP of Sales for Europe, and plans to open dedicated offices in France, Spain and Italy as it doubles its team in the region.
MoEngage's platform centralizes consumer behavioral analytics, insights and marketing automation into one dashboard, mapping customer journeys and developing hyper-personalized offers, updates, recommendations and other communications across mobile, web, e-mail and SMS. The December Series D round, led by Steadview Capital, added to a Series C1 worth some $32.5m in August, and will help to 'fast-forward' its R&D efforts and support 'a series of strategic hires' in Europe.
Citing the boom in global digital retail sales during the pandemic, the firm has now announced a four-fold increase in European revenues year-on-year, and says it has signed strategic alliances with solutions providers including customer data platform mParticle and product analytics software business Mixpanel.
Smith, with the title VP of Sales (UK & Europe), brings more than a decade's experience in scaling fast-growth technology and martech businesses, from roles at Google, Groupon, Exponea and Insider. The new European offices will join the firm's newly opened European HQs in London and Berlin to give it a presence in each of the 'big 5' economies.
CEO & co-founder Raviteja Dodda (pictured) comments: 'The digital acceleration we have seen over the past 18 months has led many retailers and brands to reassess where they are in their customer engagement journeys. But without being able to join the dots through data-led insights, and truly see a customer in 360degrees across every touchpoint, many aren't able to operate at the scale needed for success'.
