Ukraine-based social media listening and image recognition platform YouScan has raised $2m in a follow-on round of funding, which it will use to accelerate company growth and further develop its platform. The firm has also named co-founder Leonid Lytvynenko as CEO.
YouScan focuses on helping businesses analyze consumer opinions, discover actionable insights and manage brand reputation. Platform users can collect all their brand mentions by keywords, logos, and text on images from thousands of media sources in real time; and get access to 'more than 500 billion historical conversations'.
Lytvynenko takes over the CEO role from co-founder Alex Orap, who moves to the position of Chief Growth Officer. Commenting on the news, Orap said: 'Leonid was one of our two first software developers, then became a CTO and a true leader of YouScan's tech team. Leo has developed all the traits that I believe a great CEO should possess: system thinking and excellent problem solving, attention to detail combined with a broad vision, and of course, respect from the team'.
The firm's follow-on funding comes from Kinnevik AB and VNV Global AV.
