In the US, Deckchair Data founders Chris Robson and Scott Laing have joined customer centricity specialist Gongos as Senior Directors, Data Sciences, as their business is merged into the Gongos group. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Deckchair Data, which was founded in 2018, offers a combination of business understanding and data science - with the latter including analysis, data engineering, machine learning, statistics and AI tools and technologies to help clients drive their businesses. Robson and Laing (pictured) previously ran boutique analytics and insights consultancy Parametric Marketing for a decade, prior to its acquisition by ORC International in 2013. The pair join Gongos with a combined 55 years' experience across the data strategy, advanced quant, behavioral and market research disciplines.
Gongos, which was acquired by online communities specialist InSites Consulting earlier this year, says Robson and Laing will strengthen the company's ability to deliver on customer centricity across research, strategy and implementation work. The two will also serve as mentors to Gongos' data science analysts and data engineering execs. MD Camille Nicita comments: 'Our clients' data challenges are growing increasingly complex as is the ability to translate data science into meaningful decisions. With the addition of Scott and Chris, our ability to guide clients from method to business application grows even stronger'.
